Think about these questions when working on your defense

On Behalf of | Oct 25, 2018 | Criminal Defense |

Your criminal defense has to be a priority once you find out that you’re facing charges. There are several things that you have to work through when you are planning a defense. One of the first things you need to do is to decide what goal you have for it.

There are a few questions you can ask yourself to come up with your goal. Here are a few to get you started:

  • Do you admit that you committed the crime?
  • Are you willing to consider a plea deal?
  • What penalties do you think are appropriate?
  • Are you trying to be found not guilty or do you want to minimize your penalties?

Once you know what goal you have, we can review your case and help you learn about the options you have. This gives you an idea of what’s possible. When you give us the direction of your case, we can work on the defense strategy to follow.

We need to consider the case against you and the goal of your case. By looking at your case from both aspects, we can work toward your goals. We make sure you are involved in all the decision-making. Your life is the one that will be impacted by the outcome of the case, so we want you to provide the directions.

As you go through the process, always remember that you have rights. We will work with you to ensure that they are respected throughout the case. If you ever feel something is amiss, let us know right away, so we can address it.
